Warning Signs You Shouldn't Ignore
- Water stains on basement walls or floors — even old ones
- White mineral deposits (efflorescence) on concrete or block
- Musty smell, especially after rain
- Visible moisture or condensation on walls
- Peeling paint or damp drywall at the base of basement walls
- Any actual water pooling after rain — even a small amount
Interior Waterproofing: What's Actually Involved
For most Kansas City basements, interior waterproofing is the practical answer. We cut a narrow channel around the perimeter, install drain tile that captures water at the wall-floor joint, and route everything to a sump pit with a pump. The floor is repaired with new concrete. Most jobs take 1-2 days.
